Kra II. [End]

This is coolbert:

Now for the real story?

So, what is the real motivation of the Kra insurgents/terrorists?

If you read from this anti-jihad web site, the insurgency has obvious Islamic overtones. NOT just about poverty, lack of resources, humiliation, etc. Is about restoring to the Dar al-Islam [House of Islam] LAND TAKEN BY THE INFIDEL. Lands once belonging to an Islamic Sultan, taken by Buddhist poly-theists. It is legitimate to return this land, Kra, to the Muslim fold, and legitimate to use violence/terrorism to do so!!

Well, I could go on and on with this stuff. But, no need!! You get the essence!!

NOW FOR THE REAL STORY??!!

Perhaps, this insurgency is not altogether what it seems to be!!??, There is a much more conspiratorial complexity to the insurgency!!?? An insurgency that is "fueled" by foreign machinations without the participants even REALIZING it!!??

From that previously linked reference to the Kra Isthmus.

"Kra Canal"

"The Thai Canal (formerly known as Kra Canal or Kra Isthmus Canal) refers to a plan for a large canal that would cut through southern Thailand to enable improved transportation in the region, like the Panama Canal and Suez Canal."

"The idea is still entertained by a few Thai politicians today, however the high costs as well as ecological problems make it unlikely to be realized in the near future . . . In 2005, however, an internal report prepared for U.S. Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld was leaked to The Washington Times, spelling out China's strategy of underwriting construction of the canal across the Kra Isthmus complete with Chinese port facilities and refineries, as part of its "string of pearls" strategy of forward bases and energy security. The Chinese plan called for construction over ten years employing roughly 30,000 workers and costing between 20 and 25 billion American dollars."

Mind you, someone somewhere will come to this conclusion:

"The Chinese - - are somehow - - aiding and abetting - - the "rebels". So as to secure for their control - - sub rosa - - the Isthmus of Kra. Control of Kra that will allow a canal to be built under Chinese auspices. A control that will give China command to the approaches of the 'South Seas'."

"sub ro·sa

In secret; privately or confidentially: held the meeting sub rosa."

An insurgency that if successful, will allow Kra to become independent or autonomous. But not really so. Chinese rule will be "behind the scenes". [???!!!]

If there were a Chinese drive towards Sumatra, they would like to get Burma, the Kra isthmus and Malaysia, and run pipelines back to China.
Myanmar is already under their influence, and its oil areas offshore and adjacent connecting lands, may then be annexed along with the Salween valley connection towards countries to the south.
China has been pressing disputes with Malaysia over numerous reefs and islands that China says should really be theirs.
Only countries with aggressive intentions engage in this pattern of activity.
