Invasion USA VIII. [Conclusion]

This is coolbert:

"Let them put that shit [cocaine] up their nose, this is our atomic bomb!!" - - Carlos Lehder, Colombian drug narcotico also affiliated with various Colombian insurrectionist groups.

"just say NO!!" - - Nancy Reagan.

For at least three decades now, and continuing without abatement, the sovereign territory of the U.S. has been under attack by the armed gangs of the Latin American drug cartels.

And all-encompassing multi-faceted attack that comes by air, sea, and land.

[an attack the brazenness, the boldness, the scale of which becomes even more pronounced with each passing year!!]

The smuggling of illicit drugs into the U.S.

An attack that the U.S. government has attempted to forestall, with varying degrees of success.

It can be argued that this attack is NOT warfare, as war is ordinarily understood. In the instance of the drug-narcotico war, we DO NOT have a nation-state waging war against another nation-state. War NOT in the traditional sense. But WAR nonetheless!!??

WAR - - two groups of persons, using arms, each attempting to impose their will upon the other!!”

Typical 4th generational warfare as will be fought in the 21st century. NON-GOVERNMENTAL trans-national entities waging war against the military and police apparatus of the traditional nation-state.

A war that cannot be fought to a successful conclusion by law enforcement alone. The U.S. government and public seem to be in a quandary here. Combat the problem - - YES! Use the military - - YES! But ONLY in a limited and measured manner.

Resolve - - willpower - - resources - - all are in question and are lacking!!

Faced with an enemy [drug narcoticos] who have plenty, almost unlimited resources at their disposal, resources coupled with a LOT of determination, willpower and just plain ruthlessness [on the part of the drug narcoticos], it is HARD to see how this “war” can be bought to a conclusion favorable to the U.S.

What is even more worrisome is that there is a definite nexus between drug smuggling, illegal migration, and the potentiality of terrorists sneaking into the U.S. with weapons of mass destruction.

That big “firecracker” so greatly feared will someday be smuggled across the border using means and methods pioneered by the drug narcoticos?? Could be!!

Nancy Reagan is correct. As simplistic as the statement is, eliminate the demand and the supply will dry up. But how is that done? Four decades into this "war" with no real resolution or "drying up of demand".

What to do?

coolbert.

The War on Drugs has an inadequacy; it is not described and prosecuted as warfare against foreign hostiles invading and operating here.
