TacOps.

This is coolbert:

  Wargame Sims.

For those that are interested in wargame simulations [sim], go to an interesting sim web site by clicking here.

Click first on enter, then again click on downloads. You will see a number of free wargame sim demos that are available to anyone that chooses to download, install, and play.

I recommend the TacOps4 simulation.

I DID download this sim demo and did install and did play.

And it is pretty good. TacOps now has a version 5 on the way.

Obviously, that version will probably be better and even more interesting.

The demo has a very good tutorial and you are able to play the same scenario over and over playing solitaire and issuing orders and observing the battle results [so far I have not done so good, but then, I am not a big game player period!!].

Of even more interest is this web site [click here to see], which has concluded an evaluation of TacOps3 [the earlier version of 4 obviously] to be used by the U.S. Army as a sim for training the "Team Trackless" scenario.

Scenarios created for the newly fielded Stryker brigades. The newly equipped and organized brigades utilizing the Stryker armored vehicle.

Brigades that will have the capability to deploy anywhere in the world within ninety-six hours!!

Stryker leaders will evidently have the opportunity to use TacOps scenarios to sim combat missions and provide training, albeit of a virtual nature. Virtual, but still another training tool available. Cannot hurt.

And you too can train virtually and notionally as would a Stryker team leader!!
